About Tonawanda Share Corporation
Incorporated by Selby Parker in 1927, Tonawanda Share exhibited exceptional potential. Tonawanda Share Corp. is a portfolio principally of common stocks. While little capital was put in initially, Tonawanda Share Corp. has since experienced a history of growth evident in our stock history. Except for a few years, TSC has paid equal or larger dividends and intends to continue that trend into the future. You are free to review the record of TSC which is under the heading of “The Record”.
TSC was the favorite of the upper management of Selby Parker’s two other corporations S. C. Parker & Co., Inc. (see link below) and CONNOHIO, Inc. Selby Parker was President and Chairman until his death in 1967. Selby thought the long-term looked doubtful and wanted to lean toward bonds in the portfolio. However, in the mid 1950s, Jack Keenan and Donald Hilliker kept pressure on Selby to keep the portfolio mostly in equities. This fortunate decision has initiated remarkable growth for the portfolio over the years.
The current portfolio owns Bank of America at $1.06, Dow at $5.22, Royal Dutch at $1.87 and Exxon at $2.81, to name a few. We have clearly held many stocks for a long time. As we say- ‘Traders will always miss the major move’. Trading too soon may prevent further profitability. Maybe we carry it too far!
The investment philosophy of Tonawanda Share Corp. is as old as the company. We kindly joke about it here - Most of Wall St. is driven by a philosophy of their last “win”, while ours is driven by “what did we pay for it, what is it worth now and how long have you owned it?” Our synopsis shows the shares outstanding-asset value and dividends paid- you’ll be impressed! Most corporations cannot show you such a formidable record for 65 years.
While there is not a corporate relationship between TSC and S.C. Parker & Co., Inc., the offices of TSC are located at the same address. Some officers and shareholders of one are also found in the other. Members of S. C. Parker & Co., Inc. are advisors to the portfolio of Tonawanda Share Corp.
